Q: How to calculate the number of bricks in a wall?

Calculation of wall Bricks/Blocks

Ans:

To calculate the number of bricks in 10 feet long, 10 feet high, and 9-inch thick wall,
(a) First convert all the dimensions in one unit form. For instance, if we convert 9 inches to feet, we will simply divide 9 by 12 as 1 foot's length is equal to 12 inches so 9 inches will be equal to .75 feet.
(b) length of wall * height of wall * thickness of the wall
       10' * 10' * .75' = 75 cubic feet

Now 75 cubic feet is the total volume of wall
we have some standard
as we know that 1 cubic foot of volume will consume 13.5 brick with mortar.
now if 1 cft or cubic feet = 13.5 bricks
then how much 75 cft volume will consume?
simply multiply 75 cft with 13.5
which will be equal to 1012.5 no of bricks or say 1013 number of bricks.
In construction, there is always a chance of wastage, wear & tear of bricks, for example in loading and unloading brick may damage.
so we add wastage as 5% extra number of bricks
so we can say that the calculated amount is 1013 number of bricks and after addition of wastage 5%
5% of 103 bricks are 51 no of bricks

Conclusion:

we get 1064 number of bricks.
